Visiting Iceland

Iceland is an incredible country, a volcanic island where lava meets ice. Visiting Iceland is a unique experience and our blog is the best place to find out more!

Iceland is located in the North Atlantic, halfway between Europe and America and just 300 km from Greenland. Although the country has become very touristy in recent years, it’s mainly the south coast, between Reykjavik, Vik beach and the Vatnajökull glacier (the second largest glacier in Europe) that is very popular. Elsewhere, nature is wild and the land vast.

We’ve been to Iceland several times, and we’ve never been disappointed. We are therefore in a position to advise and guide you if you are planning to visit Iceland alone, as a couple or with your family. We did a 7-day tour in Iceland, another 10-day trip in winter, and we worked in the Westfjords, in the small town of Isafjordur.

Samy is a photographer, so you’ll find lots of photos of Iceland on the blog. There are photos of Icelandic landscapes as well as animals such as Arctic fox, Icelandic horses and the wild reindeer of the eastern fjords. Each visit to Iceland has been rich in experiences and photos.

If visiting Iceland is in your plans, you’ll find on The fox diary complete guides to Iceland’s regions and cities, our travel diaries, stories and folk tales and practical information to help you prepare for your trip.
